Hotel Del Coronado, such an incredible historic piece of San Diego. Special thanks to this amazing family! :) We had a wonderful family from out of town request some photos be taken at the beach. Coronado Island was a nice 1 hour drive for us but well worth it. The family was also looking for some graduation photos for their daughter so we were able to kill 2 birds with one stone and provide some amazing beach family/graduation photography. We feel so blessed to be contacted by families from out of town, and be given the opportunity to work with them and capture some amazing shots for them.
I think we can agree that family portraits are something special...
We love working with families. They are always full of love and so much joy. It brings a remembrance that family is the most important thing in life. Beyond that they hold a special meaning to us. Family pictures have a special place in our hearts as neither my Wife nor I had very many from our child hood. Something I wish we had as a piece of family history. So we want to make sure that you have some for your family and continue taking more! Thanks for reading! Don't forget to follow us on your favorite social media platform and get engaged wit the community. Tell us what family photos mean to you!
Parking lots are never big enough, agreed? We pulled into Elfin Forest, found the one available parking spot and set out to find our shoot location. Fortunately our model found a parking spot but it wasn't easy! If you plan to go to Elfin Forest try your best to arrive early as it does get packed during the cooler hours. Walking up the trail, we veered off to a large opening in the brush where the creek and background waterfalls are clearly in view. This was it! Traditionally we see shoots at Elfin being done further up stream where people can stand on the rocks and not get wet. Photography is about taking risk, into the water I say! We can not thank our amazing model enough for working with us on these amazing shots. Christina and I were both waist deep in the water with our model and our poor tripod to boot! Thank goodness our tripod was sturdy or our flash would have taken a swim! This was such a fun shoot and the results are fantastic as always. Combining natural and artificial light we were able to capture some incredible results. The shots shown above can clearly show the powerful difference of natural light photography and flash photography. Working with my Wife is such an honor, being able to capture a completely different perspective than her allows us to capture absolutely a one of a kind gallery for our clients. I believe this is one of the key factors people fall in love with their photos. The variety and quality is our top priority. 100 of the same image is never good! So risk is important? Absolutely! My wife and I constantly strive to take more risk with our photography, doing so allows us to capture even more incredible images. Stagnation is the fastest way to kill photography. Art is always changing and evolving, that isn't to say the core value of it changes but the methods of which we achieve our results and improve this is constantly growing. Adapting to these new methods allows us to provide the same photographic results we all know and love but on a WHOLE new level. If you are looking for some incredible images like these for yourself head over to our Investment page and book your session today. We look forward to working with you and taking risks to capture some incredible shots. Wanting to see Elfin Forest? We highly recommend you go and experience Elfin Forest. It is a beautiful retreat right in the center of San Diego County. Be sure to read up on the rules on their web page and check out the maps as there is tons of hiking on the reserve. If you are looking for a simple hike we highly suggest the creek loop, its about 2 miles or so in total and a great aerobic exorcise for a short hike.
If you are interested in learning more about photography at Elfin Forest then drop us a line through our Contact page! We always are looking for more shoots at Elfin Forest. We absolutely feel its one of the best spots in San Diego County for Photography. |
